Equitable Oncology achieves registered charity status

Equitable Oncology has been officially registered as a New Zealand charity, marking an important milestone in the development of the organisation.

Registration recognises Equitable Oncology’s charitable purpose and provides an important foundation for engaging philanthropists, philanthropic organisations and others who want to support our work.

Chief Executive Officer Christine Gill says achieving charitable status is particularly important because philanthropy is central to the Equitable Oncology Model.

“Philanthropy has the potential to influence not only whether innovative cancer treatments can be advanced, but how accessible they may ultimately become. Becoming a registered charity enables people and organisations who share our purpose to directly support that work.”

Equitable Oncology’s approach brings together scientific innovation, philanthropy and collaborative partnerships to help advance cancer treatments with affordability and accessibility considered alongside scientific and clinical development.

Philanthropy can help build the organisational capability needed to deliver our work, advance K5K, bring together specialist expertise and resources, and support future cancer treatment programmes.
